Apple Festival Queen Rules & Regulations
1. Each contestant must have been a resident of Greene County for six months prior to the deadline for entry (September 23, 2011), living with a parent or guardian.
She must also be presently enrolled in a Greene County High School. Grades 9 and 12.
2. Contestants must be unmarried, must never have been married, have no children and is not cohabiting with someone of the opposite sex. Former Apple Festival Queen are ineligible. Former contestants may enter again.
3. A panel of three Judges will select the winner. Based on overall points earned as described in these rules. Judges decisions are FINAL.
4. Theta Gamma Chapter of Delta Theta Tau Sorority, Inc., is sponsoring this event and all contestants will receive some prizes, with special donations and designated awareness going to the Queen and the First and Second Runner-Up.
5. The Apple Festival Queen will be called upon to represent the Delta Theta Tau Sorority in various functions throughout this year.
6. The Deadline for turning in entry forms for this year’s Apple Festival Queen Contest is Friday, September 23, 2011. Forms are to be brought or mailed to Joni Miller, Chairman, 1415 N. Old Worthington Road, Bloomfield, IN 47424
POINTS MAY BE EARNED IN THE FOLLOWING MANNER (THERE ARE 100 POSSIBLE TOTAL POINTS)
A. Entry Fee is $50.00 per contestant. This will be the only money collected from each contestant. The $50.00 fee must accompany the application form when turning them into Joni on or before September 23, 2011. You may have a sponsor to pay your entry fee, but you do not have to have a sponsor to enter.
NOTE: The entry fee will go the Edith Gray Scholarship Fund and Delta Theta Tau Philanthropic Project. Each year this chapter gives at least $500.00 scholarship. Entry fees must be received in check, cash or money order (Made out to Delta Theta Tau).
B. The contest is going to be held at the Bloomfield High School Cafeteria on Saturday, October, 1 2011 at 7:00p.m. The interview portion of the contest will begin at approximately 5:00p.m. This is a private interview Contestants will be judged on poise, personality and ability to converse.
C. The remainder of the contest will be open to the public beginning at 7:00p.m on the stage in the cafeteria beginning with a short talk from each contestant about themselves, after the short talk each contestant will be judged on an evening gown for overall impression, stage presence, beauty, and ability to answer a question.
D. The Queen and her Court will be announced that evening. The Queen and all the contestants will be required to appear at the Apple Festival on Friday (October 7, 2011) around 6:00p.m. To be introduced.
E. The Apple Festival Queen is expected to help with handing out ribbons and various other duties during the Apple Festival. The Queen and her Court will be required to ride in the Apple Festival Parade on Sunday, October, 9, 2011.
